🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT: PROTECT OUR WILDLIFE🦉🦊🐾 |
||
|
We are reminding residents to remain vigilant and report any concerns relating to wildlife crime in our area.
Wildlife crime can include: • Illegal hunting, trapping or poisoning of animals • Disturbing protected species or destroying habitats (e.g. nests, dens, bat roosts) • Hare coursing or poaching • Trading or keeping wild animals illegally • Damage to the countryside, including illegal use of vehicles on protected land
These offences can cause serious harm to local wildlife and impact the natural environment we all share.
🔎 What to look out for: • Suspicious vehicles in rural or open spaces, especially late at night or early morning • People with dogs chasing wildlife in fields • Traps, snares, or bait left in the open • Disturbance near known habitats such as woodland, rivers or farmland
📞 How to report: • Call 101 to report non-emergency suspicious activity • Call 999 if a crime is in progress • You can also report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
✅ If possible, safely note descriptions, locations, times, and vehicle registrations—but do not approach suspects. | ||
